Terms of Service
Last updated: April 29, 2026These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Hivemate (the "Service"), a Windows desktop application for orchestrating multiple AI coding command-line tools. The Service is operated by an individual sole proprietor based in Qatar ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Account and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account.
You sign in to Hivemate via Google OAuth through Supabase. We store your email address, your Supabase user identifier, and subscription status. We do not see, store, or process your Google password.
2. Subscription and billing
Access to the paid features of the Service requires an active subscription. Subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle") acting as merchant of record on our behalf. Paddle handles your payment information; we never see your card details.
Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your Paddle billing portal. When you cancel, you keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for, after which the app prompts you to renew or pick a different plan to continue using the Service.
We may change pricing for new sign-ups at any time. Existing subscribers keep their current price for the duration of their billing period; changes apply at the next renewal with at least 30 days notice via email.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right (including the terms of any AI provider whose CLI you connect to Hivemate).
- Generate content that is unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, defamatory, or infringes intellectual property rights.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except where permitted by applicable law.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or any of its features without prior written permission.
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with security or rate-limiting features of the Service or any connected AI provider.
- Use the Service to develop a competing product or to scrape its interface or output.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these rules.
4. Your data and your AI keys
Hivemate runs locally on your Windows machine. Your prompts, your code, the output from AI tools, and your AI provider API keys are stored only on your device. We do not transmit any of this data to our servers.
You retain all rights to the code, prompts, and outputs you create using the Service. We claim no ownership over your work.
You are responsible for complying with the terms of any third-party AI provider whose CLI you connect to Hivemate (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, etc.). Your relationship with each AI provider is governed by their own terms.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose during your active subscription.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for production use; you are responsible for reviewing and verifying any output before relying on it.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and cancel your subscription through your Paddle billing portal. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for breach of these Terms, for any reason if we discontinue the Service, or as required by law. On termination, your access ends at the end of the current billing period and any sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive will survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law).
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved by the courts of Doha, Qatar, except where applicable law gives consumers in their country of residence the right to bring claims in their local courts.
